Biden-Harris Administration Begins, Pledging Unity, Taking Swift Policy Action

This week’s inauguration of President Biden and Vice President Harris heralds a new era of government and policymaking.  It also will require a new level of Association Member engagement.

Under the most unusual circumstances we are likely to see in our lifetimes, our country inaugurated its 46th President on Wednesday.  Many of our members watched the ceremony with a sense of optimism that reflected the President’s themes of unity, civility, understanding and purpose.  Whether you supported or opposed President Trump, there was also the sense that the tumultuousness of the outgoing administration would not be the theme of the Biden administration.  That is good for our country, and good for our members.

President Biden and Vice President Harris have many challenges to address:  COVID-19, racial equity and inclusion, inequity in opportunity, immigration approaches that limit our growth, and many others.  HR Policy stands ready to work with the new administration to find common ground where we can lend our expertise.

HR-related policy issues will be front and center during the Biden-Harris administration, whether aggressive labor requirements for federal contractors or supporting the passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act.  As HR Policy Association develops or reinforces our positions on these issues, we need our members’ perspectives and expertise so we can provide a clear rationale for our position and serve as a fair and effective advocate.  This holds whether we support the administration’s position, oppose it, or seek to develop a compromise.

We invite you and your teams to engage with us directly through the Future Workplace Policy Council, by email or via our Community Groups.
